I’ve been working professionally in the decorative painting industry since 1999. Beginning in 2011 I began freelance work cultivating more specialized skills in preservation artisanry. My professional experience extends to sites throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area with past locale assignments in Aspen, Colorado; Key West, Florida; St. Mary’s County, Maryland and the Bahamas, leaving lasting touches in many prestigious establishments and residences.
I have roots in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I completed my BFA in Fine Arts at Tyler School of Art of Temple University. A child of the WWII migration to major port cities on the East coast, I experienced a unique upbringing embracing the transported tradition of Ukrainian culture with the adventure of a new life that was my parents’ experience and is the basis of an identity that continues to inform my artistic expression. My own father inhabited the unique blend of precise scientific application and raw artistic creativity while my grandmother brought with her the traditional craft of Ukrainian ceramics (creating and signing under that name here in the USA!).
I currently reside in Northern Virginia where I continue to perform studio work now primarily consisting of repair work to historic church statuary. Please see these wonderful “rescues” in my gallery!
